Call for Nominations to the Board of the Misty Acres Metropolitan District

This notice is being sent to all eligible electors located in the boundaries of the Misty Acres Metropolitan District, pursuant to C.R.S. §1-13.5-501(1.7), which requires that special districts provide public notice of a call for nominations by email or mail  to all email addresses or mailing addresses (if no email address is given) found in the Clerk & Recorder list(s) of district electors registered as of 150 days prior to the election.

  TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN, and, particularly, to the electors of the Misty Acres Metropolitan District of El Paso County, Colorado. 

 NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that an election will be held on the 2nd day of May, 2023 between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m.  At that time, three directors will be elected to serve 4-year terms.  

Eligible electors of the Misty Acres Metropolitan District interested in serving on the board of directors may obtain a Self-Nomination and Acceptance form from the District Designated Election Official (DEO) (email preferred) :

The Office of the DEO is open on the following days: Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to p.m.                                                                                                                                                            

The deadline to submit a Self-Nomination and Acceptance is close of business 4 p.m. on February 24, 2023 (not less than 67 days before the election).   

Affidavit of Intent To Be A Write-In-Candidate forms must be submitted to the office of the designated election official by the close of business on Monday, February 27, 2023 (the sixty-fourth day before the election). 

NOTICE IS FURTHER GIVEN, an application for an absentee ballot shall be filed with the designated election official no later than the close of business on Tuesday preceding the election, April 25, 2023.

PUBLIC HEARING February 16 2023 at 6 pm


NOTICE is hereby given that a proposed amended budget has been submitted to the Misty

Acres Metropolitan District Board of Directors for the year 2022. A copy of the proposed

amended budget is on file at the home of Board Chair Chet Sawyer, 1845 Lantern Tree Grove,

Monument, CO 80132, where the same is open for public inspection, by emailing Mr. Sawyer at

cbsawyer1@comcast.net

The proposed amended budget will be considered at a scheduled public hearing during a

Meeting of the Board of Directors to be held at 1845 Lantern Tree Grove, Monument, CO 80132

on Thursday, February 16, 2023 at 6:00 PM. Any interested elector of the Misty Acres

Metropolitan District may inspect the proposed amended budget and file or register any

objections thereto at any time prior to the final adoption of the budget.
